Heart Rate complication not working on Apple Watch

I have a brand new apple ten watch, but I cannot get the heart complication to work, no matter what watch face. other non heart complications work fine. what am I doing worng. Tried everything that I can find on the internet

Carol, Thanks. I can confirm that I am wearing the watch correctly, and the back is clean (unless there is a clear film that I cannot see or feel). The heart app works fine if I click on it, as does the ECG; they just don't work in any watch face. I have checked security settings, etc, and I believe it is configured correctly. I have tried it in multiple watch faces from different apps.

Could you expand on the "not working" issue? Is the issue with your not being able to add the complication? With the complication not displaying your heart rate?


I use the "Motion" face on my Apple Watch and have the heart rate complication at the bottom of the screen. It displays the heart rate and the last time the measurement was made. My only issue since watchOS 9 (or was it 10?) is that previous versions of watchOS would refresh the heart rate more often i the complication. Nowadays, it refreshes every 10 to 20 minutes, which I don't particularly like.
