How to Access Notes on Windows

1. Use iCloud.com

The only official way to view and manage Notes on a Windows PC is through the web:

  • Go to www.icloud.com
  • Sign in with your Apple ID
  • Click on the Notes icon

Fully functional – allows viewing, editing, creating, deleting, and organizing your notes.

2. Use a Web App Shortcut (Optional Convenience)

You can make a "Notes app" experience on Windows using a browser shortcut:

  1. Open Notes on iCloud.com
  2. In Chrome or Edge:
    • Click the three-dot menu
    • Go to "More tools" > "Create shortcut..."
    • Check "Open as window" (if available)

Now you have a pseudo-app you can pin to your taskbar.

3. Sync Notes to a 3rd-party Email Client (Limited Use)

If your iCloud Notes are stored in the “On My iPhone” account or linked to your iCloud email, some email clients (like Outlook or Thunderbird) can display Notes as emails—but not with proper formatting or folder structure. This is usually more trouble than it’s worth.
