Missing music files in Apple Music app on my Mac

My music app holds over 26000, music and voice tracks.

When I open the app, they are there and take approximately 170GB.

When I choose a song and click on play, nothing happens.

When I double click on the song, I get a window claiming that “the song could not be found”, would I like to search etc, I open music/music/music and find the album and then the song and it plays, but also asks if I would like to use this location to find other missing tracks.

I say yes, then the music app starts loading up with exclamation marks against every song.

Play next loads about twenty songs alphabetically after the chosen song.

When I find the song, a new folder opens in music/music/music, called 'music' and as I find songs, deposits them in that folder.

I go through my library of songs and there I find 'music' and in this file are the songs that I have found.

Does anyone know what I can do to solve this, It is rather frustrating and I can't play 26000 songs, just to get them recognised by the music app.

A knock-on effect is that as my pad and phone sync, they are losing the songs that should be in the library.
