How to install the latest macOS on MacBook Air 2017

I have a MacBook Air (2017) and I want to install the latest version of macOS.

When I go to System Preferences > Software Update, it says my Mac is up to date,

but I know newer versions like macOS Ventura or Sonoma are available.

How can I update manually or check compatibili

ty?

Your Mac is compatible with versions of macOS ranging from macOS 10.12.4 (Sierra) to Monterey.

It's not compatible with anything later than Monterey, so while Ventura, Sonoma, and Sequoia are available for compatible Macs, they're not available for that one.
