iPhone 16 Pro Max heating up

I’ve had my iPhone for about seven months and this morning I picked it up and began to look at the news and it began to get very hot. I have the same case I’ve had since I purchased it and have never had this problem. I checked for updates and it is up to date. What’s going on, as this phone costs too much money.

Me too! I have the iPhone 16 Pro. It gets extremely hot when I open up the Amazon app. I need Apple and Amazon to come up with a solution. The Amazon app is taking up 35% of my battery usage. This has never happened before.

Do you see a Temperature Warning Message on your iPhone? If not, your iPhone is still operating within its normal temperature range and can continue to be used. And as you state when you setup your iPhone it must finish post-setup background tasks which will cause it to work harder and as a result be warmer. If you recently updated your iPhone it can cause this, or if you are using graphics-intensive or processor-intensive apps.

Thanks Zachyy for responding. There was no temperature warning. I charge my phone in the evening and never leave it plugged up. I’m so disappointed in this.

I will suggest that you charge your iPhone overnight. It does not harm the battery as many think and is the best charging practice for iPhone. Plus when you charge overnight that is the time when the iPhone best performs re-indexing and other tasks. They don’t take place much otherwise, which can cause it to take longer and work when it’s off the charger and as a result heat up.
