iPhone: Words doubled when typing via keyboard, phrases doubled when using dictation

iOS 18.5 (but also previous version), typing on iPhone has become unusable. Words are doubled up (ie: doubled doubled up up when when typing typing) when typing via Apple's regular keyboard. When using voice on the keyboard to type, entire phrases are doubled up. I suspect it's an Apple Intelligence rewrite tools glitch. But I've never, ever used that feature. It's just there in the background, interfering with my inputs?

You too? Or what to do? Help!

Same! It comes and goes. Some days are really bad, then it won’t happen again for a few days. I think I’ve hit about a week of no issues now. Odd that there doesn’t seem to be much on this bug online. Sometimes it just doubles words, other times it duplicates whole sentences.
