My Apple Watch keeps unpairing with ActiveSync

I bought an Apple Watch (series 2 I think). At the time, whenever I added my exchange account (via Activesync) to my phone (either via the Mail app or the Outlook app), it made my watch unpair during the night following the addition (It took me a looong time to figure out that the exchange account was the cause!). I gave up in despair of never being able to consult my work emails on my personal phone (I have yet to find a good free app that works. For the moment I use Ivanti - as it shows the calendar - but it only shows half of the first lines of all emails, which is obvs no good, and I refuse to pay the yearly fee, being afraid that it will make my watch upair). I just got a new Apple watch series 10 for my bday, and with glee hoped that with this new version, the problem would be solved. But no. The watch unpairs almost
immediately! Is this an Apple problem, an Activsync problem, or a problem with my companies IT protocols ? I can't be the only person with this problem? Any help is appreciated!
