CarPlay not reading WhatsApp messages

Sounds like WhatsApp know it’s their problem. Hope they’ll release another update to fix it soon.

Mine started to exhibit this today - iPhone 15pro, iOS18.5, but not just WhatsApp - Apple Messages app too. Calls still present correctly just can't hear messages, it's like CarPlay things it played it out but nothing happened.

Have deleted all CarPlay profiles and started again with no improvement.

Car is a 2025 Mercedes EQB but I suspect this is 'just' an Apple issue rather than related to any particular car.

Yeah, except Meta has nothing to do with Apple's Message app and that's stopped reading messages too. This appears to be an APPLE problem.

I want to call out iOS18.5 as the only obvious change but my second phone is on 18.4 still and is exhibiting the same issues which started out around 12 hours ago for me mid-way through a long drive!

Audi A3, with iphone 16 Pro Max.

Thought I was going insane, I've checked every setting, repaired to the car , deleted profiles .

it literally just recognises the new message but skips to "Would you like to reply" Without reading it.

only impacts WhatsApp

Is anyone at apple looking into this ?

Similar issue, but in my case Siri isn’t reading my WhatsApp messages. It just says that e.g. I have messages in one conversation

Whatsapp update installed and now all working normally, for me anyway. Hope it works for everyone else too.

Sorry, don't work with Whatsapp 2.25.17.81 and IOS 18.5
