Safari not reloading previous pages after relaunch or restarting but simply lots of blank pages

I've had this problem for a while but thought a brand new Studio and Sequoia would address it but unfortunately not. I haven't found out much about the issue on web searches so hope that the community can help.

Safari keeps reloading for no reason Running a 16" MBP, last Intel version that was made. Running 12.5.1 with Safari 15.6.1. Lately, for no reason I can explain, Safari has be reloading pages for no reason. If I click on + to add a tab. I go to the new tab, type a search request in the URL bar, I see results I like, I click on them and then Safari reloads to a blank page. Not what I clicked on but a blank page. If I do this action twice, it works the second time but never works the first time. This seems to get progressively worse the more I try to do this. It gets bad enough I have to reboot the Mac to make it useable. I don't use many extensions and I have tried disabling them to no avail.

Safari virtually unusable, slow to load webpages if it manages to load at all Any experiencing this issue? Seems to have developed since OS update to Ventura, I've already checked for updates (I'm on Ventura 13.1 now) and tried all the suggestions on Apple support. Problem still persists to the extent that I've given up using Safari for the time being.

Safari sometimes refreshes to a completely different page than what I was on Sometimes when Safari reloads a page it’ll reload to something completely different than what I was on. This has also happened when using the back and forward buttons
