The production release of iPadOS 26 won't be released until much later this year. If Apple follow their usual release pattern, the full release is likely to be September.

At this time, an early beta release is only available to registered Apple Developers. Apple has indicated that an initial public beta will be released next month.

Beta-release software should not be installed on any devices upon which you have any reliance - or has critical data or irreplaceable data. Beta software is very likely to be unstable and/or have bugs. There is no support whatsoever should you encounter inevitable difficulties.

If you have an iPad that you need to work, or with Apple or third-party apps that you need to work, with iCloud data you need available and uncorrupted, then you will want to wait for the iOS 26 release later this year.

If you have a spare iPad, and a spare Apple Account, you will be able to get the public beta as that becomes available. Make a backup before installing the beta, so that you can revert.

If you can’t reset your iPad and start again from nothing (with no restore), you don’t want to be running a beta.

iPadOS 26 has not yet been released.

FWIW, I think the release will more likely be Oct-Nov.

new apple softwares first release in June which is the beta version for developers. That’s because the devs are checking for bugs and then when it’s for public release it release in September. That’s is when you can download iOS 26. But if you have a developer account you can download it in beta

Well, if you are talking about the public version, that comes out in the fall. Public beta comes out in July (wouldn’t recommend). And the developer beta is already available. But I am assuming you are not a developer. So all in all you will probably have to wait until fall. I hope this helped!
