Are you a registered Apple Developer?
If you are, you have already been contacted by Apple with information and details.
Otherwise, you can wait for the Public Beta in another month or so to install on a spare phone that you have.....as Apple very strongly recommends. (No one would ever recommend installing beta software on your "everyday" phone.)

So you REALLY want untested, buggy, things won't run correctly, banking apps likely won't work software on your iPhone? If you're not a developer, you aren't eligible for the Beta Release. And just about everyone who found a way to get it thus far are coming here begging to learn how to undo the mess they've gotten themselves into. We aren't going to help you mess up your phone. If you do find a way, you cannot come here and ask for ANY help with iOS 26.
Wait until it's fully tested and ready for public release in the fall.
Now the iOS 26 develop beta is released, and only those who join the plan (exclusively for registered Apple developers) will be upgraded. If you want to install iOS 26 beta, please refer to this article: Sign up for Apple Developer Program (if not already),
Note that iOS 26 beta is currently volatile.

You wait until it's released in the fall.
The beta is available now for registered developers. The public beta will be available probably in a few weeks.
You absolutely do NOT want to run a beta on a device you rely on. Betas are inherently buggy and unstable. Many app developers will not have fully compatible versions of their apps ready until the final release comes out in the fall. Things like banking apps will probably break and not function until the final release.
Betas are intended for testing, not daily use. If you do decide to enroll in the beta program, you can NOT get help here. The beta can not be discussed outside of Apple's dedicated forums for beta program enrollees.
Better wait for the official release — the dev beta isn’t meant for regular users. Still, if you have a second iPhone, go ahead and try it out! Just sign in with your Apple ID on the Apple Developer site, agree to the terms, and you should see the dev beta available on the update page.

If you can't figure out how to do it on your own, you aren't ready for a beta version on your phone.

No, you don't need iOS 26 on your phone.
