Migration Assistant taking over 9 hours to migrate approx 20GB of data?

I am currently upgrading from a 2019 MBP to an M4 MBA and the migration assistant seems to be going very slow.

I don’t think I’m transferring over that much data, the Migration Assistant said it’s about 20GB. I started at 5PM and it’s currently 2AM the next day.

I’m using peer-to-peer which I understand isn’t as fast as Thunderbolt but should it be…..this slow?

The estimated speed is 40 Mbps, which over 9 hours would transfer over ten times that much data.
