Can’t get safari to look up stuff near me. I’ve been through all the settings and there shouldn’t be a problem what gives why is this so hard to fix

Searching for things near you is done through a search engine. The web browser, any web browser, is not really involved beyond loading the relevant search engine website.
What search engine are you using? Google? Duck Duck Go? Bing?
What happens when you try to search for something? Does it use an incorrect location? Does it not work at all?
If you explain the issue in as much detail as possible, someone may be able to advise.
