Why does music pause repeatedly when using aux cord in car with iPhone 16 Pro?

Whenever I try to listen to music in the Apple Music app or YouTube app in my car, sometimes the music will play fine & other times it will start & pause continually. I upgraded to the iPhone 16 pro & this never happened with my other iPhones. I’ve tried plugging in different aux cords & the same thing happens. Also, pink & blue lights flash on the screen when it pauses as well. I don’t receive any error messages at all.
