Music pausing and skipping

I know this has been a running issue with iOS

I have an SE2 running on version 16.2 and a few days ago my music started pausing and skipping songs after a few seconds and it’s only when I have it plugged in to my car via charger/aux adapter. The adapter and charger are both brand new so I know it’s not from that

I’ve restarted my phone, restarted the app, does the quick reset with the volume button but nothings worked so far

I’ve had this problem before and I didn’t need to reinstall the music app but I’m not sure of how I fixed it before

It sounds like you are having some trouble with Apple Music skipping songs. We can help.

You mentioned that both the adapter and the charger are new, so we want to make sure if this was happening with a different charger and adapter before these ones? If not, we can test using a different cable and see if the behavior continues. If it does, then the cable and charger are the cause.

On the other hand, if the behavior happens with all charging cables and adapters, we can also test with a different stereo. If we find the issue goes away when connected to another stereo, you might need to get in touch with your car or stereo manufacturer to make sure this is supported by them.

If you're still having trouble, it doesn't hurt to Update iOS on iPhone. Being on the latest software will make it possible to effectively troubleshoot if you need to Contact Apple for support and service.
