Why do you want to downgrade from Sonoma to Monterey?

First and foremost your Photos library will not work on Monterey. You'll have to get a backup copy of the library that was created in Monterey and use it. You'll lose photos that were added since you upgraded to Sonoma.

Are you having problems with Sonoma? If usually easier to fix problems than downgrading to an older system.

I believe you need to have an MBA that's 2018 or newer in order to be running Sonoma and be able to also run Monterey.

To install macOS 12 Monterey on a computer that is already running macOS 14 Sonoma ?

This would require removing the Newer macOS 14 Sonoma - First

Then, to boot from a Bootable Installer of macOS 12 Monterey and commence the Installation

Is this what you are trying to do, Downgrade ?
