Unable to share Apple memories on my iPhone 16 Photos app

I am unable to share any of the memories created by apple. The three dots in the corner don’t work when pressed nor does the advice from apple of clicking on the video/photos while it is playing. no option to share appears anywhere. Using iphone 16 ios 18.5

The Share option will appear in the three dots menu, when I do the following:

  • Open the memory and tap the "film" button to play it as a film.
  • When it starts playing, tap the "Pause" button to stop it.
  • Then tap the three dots in the upper right corner to open the menu.
  • The "Share" option will be the second menu item.

But nearly all of the created memory movies will give a warning when trying to share them, that sharing is not possible because the sound track is using a protected song. Before we can share the memory video we have to replace the background music by a song that is not protected by digital rights.

Oh-- that makes some sense. Thanks! (On American iPhones, it's "Movie" rather than "Film.") It looks like you don't have to actually pause it-- but you have to tap the movie to bring up the 3 dots. I found it confusing when I did the More button, chose share, canceled back to movie, and the 3 dots again became inactive. Not Apple's most intuitive interface…
