I am using Sequoia 15.5 on a Mac mini. I've installed Black Hole but cannot get Audacity to hear and record streaming music. With OBS, no problem; but it is creating a MP4 file even though I don't want any video. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance

Not a perfect solution but should be helpful . . . download the free "To MP3 Converter" from the App Store and drop your OBS files onto it. Very quickly it will convert them (or anything else) to .mp3 in any quality you choose up to 320kbps.

Audio Hijack is the premier app for this sort of thing. It is well supported and used by professionals. There is a free trial to see if it does the job for you.
Since neither Black Hole nor Audacity are Apple applications, it might behoove you to contact the publishers of those apps for guidance.
It converted a 30 minute video to .mp3 in 45 seconds on my M4 mini. If you have an older mini it will take longer of course.
I had hoped that someone in the community could report the success they had and the steps taken. And if not, an alternative product to use
After installing BlackHole, did you set Audacity's recording device to BlackHole?
Yes I did. And in Mac system setting within Sound, input is Black hole and output is external speakers. Any thoughts on this?
