How do I stop Safari from always opening "Today at Apple" on my iPhone 15?

When I tap on the safari icon at the bottom of the home page on my iPhone 15, I am always taken to a page called "Today at Apple" Why does it do this; and how do I get to the browser page?

When you click the Safari icon, you are launching the Safari app. Safari then loads a website, and in the example you cite that website happens to be Today at Apple.

I suspect I am misunderstanding some fundamental concept. You can load any website you wish, such as this one (Apple Community) Apple's home page, etc. Those are browser pages, or web pages if you prefer. If you want to load a general purpose search page you can choose https://duckduckgo.com/ or others.
