Unable to edit a duplicated document in Pages on iMac

I duplicated an existing document so I could update it. I'm not sure if it has one table or multiple tables. Either way, I am unable to insert the cursor into a row in the table in the new document in order to make changes. I have done this before and never had a problem, what’s the problem now?

Disappearing Files ? I have tried to ignore this problem but now it has started on a second M1 Mac, I need to see how to deal with it from some helpful soul. If I create a Pages or Numbers document which is shown as saved to Documents, I can click on File - Open Recent and it will be there at the top of the list. If I then go to File - Open, my Documents file list opens in alphabetical order but the document does not show in there. What am I doing wrong ? I used to be able to do this operation with my old iMac and never noticed a problem. It has only started, or so it seems, since I bought 2 M1 Macs. Help !

Today, Pages won't open SOME Word docs that it used to open yesterday. iMac 1.6 GHz, Late 2015 macOC Monterey 12.5.1 I installed Spectrum Internet a week ago I installed Monterey two days ago. Pages used to open Word docs. As of today 8/25, pages won't open SOME word docs that it used to open before. The Word docs are created on the PC where I work. Then, I work on them at home on my Mac. I wonder if it's a glitch on Word in my office computer. I wonder if it's the size of the file. I wonder if Spectrum or Monterey is contributing (I don't think so) Thanx for previous help.

Cut and Paste Mac Air I can copy and paste a document but can't work out how to CUT and paste a document. At present I am copying then I have to go back and delete original document.
