Cut and Paste Mac Air

I can copy and paste a document but can't work out how to CUT and paste a document. At present I am copying then I have to go back and delete original document.

Thank you. I have looked there (it helped me with a few commands)but I did not see how to Cut and paste only how to copy and paste. I will look again in case I missed it.

I phoned Apple helpline. Unfortunately with an Apple Mac you can't CUT and PASTE a document or a photo, you can only drag it. I am disappointed.
