my Apple Watch (series 10) keeps being the default for notifications, regardless if it’s charging or not. It’s on an Apple charger so there’s no 3rd party issue. Even if the watch is charging, my phone doesn’t vibrate or get notifications overall, just the watch.

Any chance the mute switch is enabled on your iPhone when the watch is charging?
My iPhone is on mute all the time, and when I get a call, the watch is ringing while being charged.

Yes the mute switch is enabled on my iPhone, but my phone should still be vibrating when the watch is on its charger. The issue is ALL notifications are going to my watch regardless if its on the charger or not.
OK with no passcode your watch will not lock so it thinks you are still wearing it.
Apply a passcode and your iphone should get the notifications.
However once unlocked the watch will get all the notifications instead of the phone unless you turn off notifications app by app in iPhone, Watch app, My Watch tab, Notifications.
Did you turn off passcode ur wrist detection on the Watch? Ince off your wrist everything should go to the phone IF it knows you took it off.
My watch doesnt have a passcode, and wrist detection is on.
