How can I use my old iPad mini A1432 as a kitchen Apple Music hub?

I want to use my old iPad mini a1432 as an Apple Music hub in my kitchen next to my HomePod mini. I can't seem to get Apple Music to work on it I have the family plan already. maybe it can't be used? thanks

The App Store indicates that

  • the Apple Music app requires iOS 10.0 or later
  • the Apple Music Classical app requires iOS 16.0 or later


Your iPad (A1432) is the original iPad mini (Wi-Fi) introduced in October 2012. It cannot run iOS 10 or higher. Thus it cannot run either of the apps that would let you access the Apple Music subscription service.


That leaves one option. You could try accessing Apple Music via the Web interface https://music.apple.com/. I do not know if the ancient version of Safari running on that old iPad mini will be capable of accessing that Web site – but that would seem to be your only hope for using it as an Apple Music hub.
