IPadOS 17.7.8 causing issues on my IPad Pro 10.5 inch

I never downloaded the 17.7.7 update since I heard it was buggy, but I did download the 17.7.8 update and it is making my IPad practically unusable. I have to constantly resign into apps, but it won’t let me login if I did so from my gmail because my IPad is now viewing google and Safari as unsafe, it says “Connection is not Private” every time I try to search something on Safari. Apps are not saving their place. I tried a Network Settings reset and the problems still here, even tried changing my Wi-Fi and nothing. I can’t even use any apps that require a network connecting including games and streaming apps. Is anyone else having this problem?

Any way I can roll back to a previous version of iPadOS? I would be willing to pay for a 3rd party tool to do it. My 12” iPad Pro is useless now😢

Rolling-back to an earlier version of iOS/iPadOS is not possible.

All System Updates are digitally signed by Apple - and can only be installed whilst the digital signatures remain valid. After release of a new iOS/iPadOS version, the immediately preceding version continues to be digitally signed by Apple - however, usually within a few days, Apple will revoke the digital certificate with which the earlier version is signed.

If Apps no longer work properly following update to a more recent version of the OS, you’ll need to seek assistance from the related App Developer - as only they can resolve issues with their App.

Perhaps consider that iOS/iPadOS updates include both functional and essential security updates. Restoring an earlier version of the OS would undermine the security of your device and your personal data.

If I bring my iPad to the Apple Genius Bar, if they can’t fix the problem will I be able to get a replacement or will they be able to send it out to be repaired. I do not expect it to be free but I need an option.

Starting at the Genius Bar is always a good option - as the initial diagnostics are without cost. If the problem can be easily remedied, it will cost you nothing but your time.

If a hardware fault is identified that the technicians cannot immediately rectify, the device can be sent for repair directly.

Should you choose to do so, you can also send your device for repair yourself:

Hey, guys. Sounds like you’re not alone — 17.7.8 seems to be causing major connectivity and login issues for some users.

The “Connection is Not Private” warning usually points to a certificate or HTTPS validation bug, and the constant sign-outs suggest something’s wrong with how the system is storing login/session data.

Since you’ve already tried a network reset and different Wi-Fi, you might need to either reinstall the update via iTunes/Finder.

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Definitely worth reporting to Apple Support so they can log it as a known issue.

I hope the above methods will be helpful to you.

I’m seeing other users report the same issue on iPadOS 17.7.8. The “Connection is Not Private” message usually means a certificate problem, and the constant logouts suggest the update isn’t saving sessions correctly.

Since you already tried Network Reset and different Wi-Fi, the next step is to reinstall the update using Finder or iTunes. If that doesn’t work, a full restore might be needed: https://support.apple.com/HT201252

It’s also a good idea to contact Apple Support so they can note this bug.
