How can I disable Apple Music Autoplay when connecting a speaker cable

When connecting to my car’s cabled speaker connection via usb Apple Music automatically plays the first song alphabetically in my library every time, and perhaps surprisingly to Apple I want to turn this autoplay ‘feature’ off.

I’m not an Apple Music subscriber but use my iPhone more like an iPod with songs actually stored on the device. I can’t toggle the autoplay/infinity button on/off as it’s greyed out in the app, perhaps because I am not an Apple Music subscriber. I’ve also turned Handoff off. I’m using iPhone 15 pro with iOS 18.5.

Any help would be appreciated as I’ve trawled forums for answers to this with no luck.
