How can I get HD camera settings in FaceTime on my MacBook Pro running macOS 15.4.1?

MBP iOS 15.4.1

When I click on the green FaceTime icon, I only have mic mode options in the dropdown menu. A work colleague has HD Camera settings as well. From this, she can set a virtual background. She has the same iOS.

Is there a way I can get this feature?

Oh. For some reason I didn’t see your other reply, but that tells me you have an Intel Mac. As explained in this article, unfortunately, the camera settings you’re referring to aren’t compatible with Intel processors. You would need an ARM-based Mac for that (M1 or higher). However, with Intel Macs, you can use an iPhone 12 or newer as a Continuity Camera to achieve these same settings.

I wish I had a different answer for you, but I’m glad I could answer your question. Have a great day!
