Unable to hide the App Store using Screen Time - is there a workaround?

Hello,

I'm using Screen Time to supervise both my child's iPhone and iPad (same Apple ID under Family Sharing). In older iOS versions, I remember being able to hide the App Store icon completely through the “Allowed Apps” toggle.

Since iOS 16+, it seems that option is no longer present. I can block app installation, but the App Store icon remains visible, and my child can still redownload previously acquired apps via iCloud.

I don’t want to disable “Share Across Devices” because I need to manage both devices remotely and keep central control active. But I’d like to know if anyone has found a reliable workaround to either:

- hide the App Store icon again;

- or fully block re-downloading apps already purchased, across multiple devices.

Any advice from other parents or users would be greatly appreciated — especially if you're managing multiple devices under the same Screen Time setup.

Thank you!
