Screen time not blocking App Store
I have encountered a recurring problem with Screen Time with my kids were the initial setup hides the App Store, but then later fails to work even though Screen Time on the parent’s phone is configured correctly.
Screen Time works perfectly at first with App Store icon being hidden. But then my child asks for the App Store to be enabled to download a new app. Even after I return Screen Time settings to hide the App Store, my child still has full access to the App Store.
This has been happening across multiple major iOS releases.
The only repeatable, but very temporary fix, is to completely turn off Screen Time for the child’s phone and then completely and manually reset every single Screen Time setting like before. This will work for a day or until a temp allowance to the App Store is granted by the Parent’s iPhone. But sometime after that, the parent’s iPhone and the child iPhone get de-synced, and the parent’s iPhone *shows* the correct setting, but the child’s iPhone still have the App Store fully enabled on their device.
This is not a sustainable process every single day.
