Why can't Siri initiate FaceTime audio calls when asked?

When I say “hey siri FaceTime audio call [name in my contacts] she says she doesn’t have an app for that.

im so confused—why can’t Siri initiate a FaceTime audio call when I ask her to?

Starting FaceTime Call with Siri creates FaceTime link instead When I say Hey siri, start a FaceTime call with <x> , it use to initiate the FaceTime call. Siri's call confirmation missing after iOS 18.1 update Since the IOS 18.1 update Siri won’t confirm who I’m asking her to call when I tell her to call a name in my contacts. My phone just shows on the screen who I’m calling without confirming beforehand. I don’t want to turn on announce caller because it will tell me who’s calling and everyone can hear it. Works for me all the time. I usually say “Hey Siri, make a FaceTime Audio call to ____”
