Safari reader jumping back to top of the page after switching to another tab

When using the reader mode I can’t go to another tab because I keep losing my reading place. Even if I go to another tab and come back quickly the reader mode had already jumped to the top of the page and not the last place I was on. I tried clearing all the history and website data, restarted safari, restarted my device, turned off and even deleted the extensions but the problem was still there

How can I restore Reader View on Safari? One of the best functions of Safari was the “Reader View” imo. It has now disappeared. I know you can drill down and select “show reader automatically” but it STILL doesn’t appear for ANY websites as far as i can see. Also tried long press on the square/2lines icon in the address bar. Reader view not working on Safari 17.2.1 On a Safari webpage or webarchive page I used to be able to click on the Reader view button and see the words in large-sized black and white. In the last week that button became non-functional for both online and offline pages. When clicked the button turns dark grey but doesn't change anything. Any ideas about what happened and suggestions on how to get the function back? The Reader view still works in Firefox. Using MacBook Pro 16-inch from 2019 and macOS 14.2.1.

Reading list opening 1/3rd from bottom (oldest) after update, why? Updated to Ventura 13, have Safari 16.1. MBA 2020 M1. Now when I open my Reading List is it not at the newest added sites, it is about 1/4 from the bottom (older sites). Here's the hook; On the scroll bar, the white bar icon is at the top (as if it were at the top of the list), but it isn't. When I scroll up, the list jumps, then I have to keep scrolling to get to the actual top (newest). on the list. Any idea what is going on here and how I can fix it? This is terribly annoying and inconvenient.
