Unable to upload my iTunes music to my new iPhone 16

When I was overseas back in December, I gifted my iPhone to a relative after backing it up. After purchasing another iPhone 16 in USA, I was unable to upload most of the music and playlists. The country/ region in settings (under Media & purchases) shows USA. When I click on Greyed out song to download, the message " this item is not available in your region or country" pops up. Please advise!

Every time I get a new phone, songs get "grayed out" and I can not access them. This has happened since 2008 or 09. So frustrating. Even when I have apple itune receipts for the songs! Anyway, the new message is "song is not currently available in your country or region." My country listed in my phone is United States, so not sure why, again, Apple is taking away music that I have purchased. I have the music on 2 macs and my old iphone. Argh!! Any ideas for a fix?

Music not available in my country ? 90% of my music is soundtracks and foreign CDs. I buy all my music from CDJapan and they are all legal and legit CDs. I do not download or capture from any online sources. I have had no issues with listening to my stuff until recently. Randomly, my iphone will grey out my songs and say it is not available in my country or region. This is unfair on Apple's part. Most of the songs are not available to buy on itunes and the ones that actually are? For some odd reason they won't play on my phone. I have a copy of an itunes purchase that was on the USA store and that album is randomly affected as well. I don't understand the reason behind trying to stop people from listening to music from other countries. iTunes allows us to buy CDs from a store, import, and place them on our phones, ipods and ipads. But this recent block makes no sense. My phone is a non active phone that I just use for music storage. So I cannot access VPN. The solution is a resync but that is pretty annoying and a gamble if the iPhone just decides to randomly detect and grey out stuff. It feels pretty much like a whim of the device.

How can I fix error "This item is not currently available in your country or region"? Just purchased 3 CDs and loaded them onto my computer. When I tried synching them onto my iPhone I get the following message for all the songs "This item is not currently available in your country or region." Since I bought the CDs, I don't know why my country or region should matter. But, my region is the United States and I purchased the CDs in the US. [Re-Titled by Moderator]
