Go to Settings > General > About. First see if there is a carrier update that needs to be done. Then, see if there is a section called Parts and Service? If so, is there an issue with cellular? This would indicate an issue with the cellular modem chip in your iPhone.

If there is an issue with the hardware part, you will need to have your iPhone serviced. But note that if you had a previous repair done and it was an unauthorized repair, Apple will no longer service your iPhone and chances are this issue will persist.

If there is no issue displayed, try contacting your carrier and see if the issue is also on their end and to troubleshoot.

Ever had your iPhone repaired, and where was it done if so?

Hi dwra50!

Do you use a sim or a E-sim?

I’ve had a E-sim on my iPhone 13 with iOS 18.5 (beta), and it’s still better with a sim.

So I would recommend you for trying a sim.

Im using a sim and i have no problems with the same software you have now…

If that doesn’t work, try to reset your phone to fabric settings.

And if that doesn’t work too,

than contact Apple.

I which you mush luck to get a single connection.

Having cell issues as well after updating to 18.5. I had almost 4 bars all the time where I’m at for work on my XR. Downloaded 18.5 on the XR, then started getting 1 bar, dropping down to 3G. Bought a new iPhone 16. Updated to 18.5. Same issue occurs. Maybe it’s because of my work location but, I was getting 4 bars like all the time before. Sometimes will even drop down to SOS.
