Apple News New Small Popup Story Screen

When I click an Apple News Story I want to read from the widget suggestions, it now opens it in a smaller screen in the Apple News app. I assume to keep the current story I’m reading from closing as it’s in the background. However, I now cannot make the new story in the new small screen bigger. Any idea how to make it bigger?

On the iPad , and iphone, if you open a story from AppleNew in the mail app it only appears in smaller ‘box’ in the Apple News app. I’ve found no way to get anything next to ‘full screen’. Actually called Apple support and they knew no way to make the viewing window larger. Anyone know what to do? See attached picture. Stop Apple News App for MacOS from Opening New Windows I've searched everywhere and have not found any solutions, but wanted to ask here before submitting a change request to Apple. I use the MacOS version of Apple News extensively, since it's so much easier to read than on an iPhone. But every time I open a story from the App, it opens a new window instead of opening the story inline inside the News App itself. It's very annoying and disrupts the ability to use the "go back" metaphor for reading that has been a browser standard since Mosaic employed backwards and forwards buttons in the early 1990s. Has anyone found a way to force News to open stories inside the existing News App main window? I'd like it to work the same way it does on iOS, where it does open inline and allows use of the back arrow. Otherwise, I'll request a change from Apple, but I doubt they'll consider it.

Customizing the Apple News feed I keep asking Apple News to “suggest less” on stories in my feed in an attempt to customize the news feed. But I keep getting more of the same kind of stories. How long is it supposed to take Apple to reflect my preferences using this system? Also, why is there no search function in the News app for iPhone on the main screen when you want to find a story that you saw but can’t find it in your feed any longer? There is a search under “manage favorites,” but search should be easily accessible from the home screen of the app.

Try restarting your iPad or the Apple News app; that sometimes fixes weird screen issues like the ones you're seeing.
