Why are apps logging me out on iPad after iPadOS 17.7.7 update?

Who’s having big problems with this latest updates? Since installing it, I’ve had nothing but issues, the majority of apps I get signed out of when shutdown and have to accept the terms again once opened.

Youtube won’t stay signed in and have to keep logging in each time, Safari won’t keep dark mode enabled on Facebook on its app or through the website.

I had none of these issues before doing this .1 update this week. Come on Apple sort these bugs out.

iOS 17.7.7 getting me too. Launching YouTube starts with a crash. Then when I get it running, pinch zoom does not work. Tired reloading app, and resetting iPad but neither fixed the problem.

First, perhaps understand the Apple Support Community is a user-to-user technical forum. Contributors here are all end-users, just like you. Other than the site Moderators, Apple neither monitor nor participate here. As such, if you hope to reach Apple through these forums, you will be disappointed.

Multiple reports of significant issues with iPadOS 17.7.7 have been seen within this Support Community.

You and anyone else that encounter issues subsequent to updating to this version of iPadOS should submit a Bug Report via Apple's Product Feedback portal.  For iPad and iPadOS:

Feedback - iPad - Apple

When submitting your Bug Report, please ensure that you include details of your iPad model and installed version of iPadOS within the body-text of your report along with details of the problem. Do not rely upon the pick-list - as this rarely includes the current version of iPadOS. If the current version is not available within the pick-list, choose the highest available version and ensure that full details are included within your report.

Every Bug Report counts. Unless reports are submitted (with adequate detail), Apple may not assign resources to investigate and correct the issue.

In addition [i.e., not as a substitute] to submitting a Bug Report, you might also consider seeking assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page; you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You're not alone—many users are reporting issues after the iOS 17.1 update, including:

  • Apps signing out (like YouTube and Facebook) after shutdowns.
  • YouTube won’t stay logged in.
  • Facebook dark mode not working properly in Safari.
  • Increased battery drain for some users.

These seem to be bugs introduced in the update. Try updating your apps, clearing Safari cache, or reinstalling affected apps. If problems continue, report them to Apple Support—they're likely working on a fix.
