Just charging my phone using apple's charger/ adaptor then it suddenly turned off and not powering on. Apple says it is not a software issue, like how come? I use my phone mainly on not heavy tasks like browsing web and meta?

Check the charging port for lint or other debris (use a bright light and a toothpick).
