Why does my M4 Mac mini lock in with AI apps and renders, even when it is not hot?

I recently brought a Mac mini 5 months ago and I love this thing. I started doing some productivity stuff like rendering my Blender models for showcasing and it takes me 8 minutes to usually render. I also run local AI models such as AI video upscaling which usually takes like 30 minutes to an hour depending on the duration itself and also running high quality AI music separation models which usually takes 5 minutes to do vocals and instrumentals.

I love my daily machine, but as I started using it a lot, I realize that my renders and AI models began to lock in for some reason.

My Blender models take 30 - 40 minutes to render, and now my AI stuff takes hours to do? I don’t know why it does that but I figure it could be a RAM lock in thing since Blender usually takes a gig of RAM or more to take 8 minutes or less to render my models, instead it locks in at 500MB of RAM. My AI models does the same as the RAM locks in at 5 - 8 GB of RAM, usually it takes more than that but I don’t check my activity monitor for it. I also figure it could be thermal throttling since all that process does make my Mac mini hot and like most computers they lock in but it now even if my Mac mini isn’t hot it’ll still lock in.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone talk about this because I couldn’t find a solution for it. Maybe it has a mind on its own. Does anyone know what’s happening?

Also forgot to mention that this does not always happen. It usually temporary does it when it knows it does. After a couple of weeks I begin using my AI programs again and it started operating as normal and I was monitoring it to see what’s happening. I didn’t see any suspicious and then a few minutes later it began doing the same thing like it usually does.

Many of those apps have extensions and supporting files running in the. background. You can check to see if you've removed all of the supporting files by downloading and running the shareware app Find Any File to search for any files with the application's or the developer's name in the file name.  For XXXX software you'd do the following search(es):

1 - Name contains XXXX

Any files that are found can be dragged from the search results window to the Desktop or Trash bin in the Dock for deletion.

FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages.

If you get warnings that the file can't be deleted because it is in use or used by another app boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and delete from there.

Note:  if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode.  This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will assure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

Also Macs don't need any software like Cloudflare WARP. I'd uninstall it according to the developer's instructions. Then use Find Any File to see if you got all of the supporting files.

I am running Ultimate Vocal Remover running only one local model for my example and my GPU gets at 100 degrees celcius and my CPUs get at 80-90 degrees celcius. RAM is locked in at around 8GB. I normally let my GPU do the work more than the CPU but before this issue happened I ran an ensemble with 4 high quality models and they took 15 minutes to seperate vocals. This single process shouldn't take long in my opinion.

I don't know what you mean by "lock in". That's a term I've never heard before.

The most likely cause of a reduction of performance over time is a full hard drive. I realize you said you "have 187.35 GB available". Unfortunately, the term "available" is well-known and very confusing. What matters is "free" storage. Any time the system tells you about "available storage", it means nothing whatsoever - a total fantasy. You have to find your free storage. You can get that in Disk Utility.
