The AppStore wants my work appleID to update

My appstore asks for my work appleID before it will update and i want to reinstall it in my personal Apple ID. I’ve deleted and reinstalled all the other apps linked to my work Apple ID to fix this for them but I cannot completely delete tha AppStore (if I do it only leaves the home screen but is obviously still on the phone). I’ve also tried logging out of the AppStore but when I login to update it using my personal appleID, it then reverts to asking me to provide my work appleID again. I do have that password but I want to completely separate my personal and work phones and Apple accounts which I have apart from the AppStore itself.

The screenshot refers to the Apple Store app, not your App Store. Delete the "Apple Store" app. This was downloaded with your work Apple Account. You cannot delete the App Store, but you can delete the Apple Store app. These are 2 completely different apps.

I do not recommend a restore in this case as it will try to redownload the Apple Store app and you will see the same message.

I think that worked! I deleted both (one o guess is just removing it from the Home Screen) and when I replaced the App Store app it no longer had it itself in the list of apps to update so I’m hoping it will allow me to update under my personal id next time around. Many thanks all!!!!

Yep, that will do it. Any other app that was downloaded with your work Account will pop up the same message when there is an update available for that app, but all you need to do is delete the app and it will no longer attempt to update. Unfortunately, there is not a good way to identify which apps were downloaded with your work account in advance.
