How do you open new Safari search pages in a separate tab on Mac?

Have preferred search engine set up on Safari. How do I set Safari up to open new searched pages in another tab next to the original tab?

In other words want all searched pages open until I no longer need to refer to them. Appreciate your assist.

Is there a way to add sites to Safari's Quick Website Search? I used Sogudi way back in the day and moved on to Smart Keyword Search. Before installing on a new machine, I'm trying to see if there's a way to manually add sites to Safari's built in Quick Website Search. It appears that that they are added when prompted by code on visited sites. Any work-arounds without adding a 3rd party extension?

Post Monterrey, Safari home page is different Since installing Monterrey (OS 12.6.1) the Safari homepage has "favorites" and "reading List" on it along with a different background. I'd like to have just a search engine, eg., Google, come up when Safari's home page is opened. Here's a picture of what it looks like after Monterrey. Thank you.

open safari in startpage Hi I have a question I will try to explain and ask as best I can, is it possible to enable startpage as default when operating up safari and not a search engine. I know you can enable startpage when opening a new tab. I already use it that way. But how can I open as first tab when opening up Safari instead google or whatever search engine people might use. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here ?
