Iphone 14 pro(US version) Whatsapp Issue

I have initially purchased an US version Iphone 14 pro.I am residing in India and I am currently in the process of converting my physical sim from Airtel to Jio,(Switching to Esim in Jio is more convenient),I was told the process would probably take 15days.

Now here’s my problem.

I was able to log-in to my whatsapp and all my contacts are there.But I was not able to see my contact’s whatsapp status althought they are able to see mine.Does anyone have a similar problem?or Can anyone please help me fix this issue?
