How do I turn off iCloud syncing reminders?

I am intentionally not syncing my information (except "find my Mac) to iCloud. I don't want to sync to iCloud. I want to get rid of the daily nag that forces me to close a reminder box which opens Systems Setting which I must also close to do what I want.

I know how to go into iCloud settings and under reminders turn off syncing but the problem is when I do that says reminders will be deleted from iPhone. Reminders not syncing to iCloud after Sonoma update MacBook Air, 13", 2019, just updated to Sonoma. Reminders on the Mac have stopped syncing to iCloud. Syncing between iCloud, iPhone and iPad seems to be fine, it's just the Mac. I can force my Mac to sync by going to Settings/iCloud, switching off Reminders, restarting the Mac, then switching Reminders back on again, but that's a one time fix. Can anyone come up with a more longterm solution? Many thanks
