How do I trim silence from a 4-part a cappella track without affecting the timing of individual parts?

I am trying to cut some of the silence from bars 16-17. When I make a cut at the end of the intro and trim the beginning of the clips that begin at bar 18 so that they begin at bar 17 instead, the lead part track continues to start playing at bar 18 while the other three move as I meant for them to move. Here is a screen recording of this happening.

Update: After I posted this question, I decided to try some other tasks in the project that also need to happen with EQ, reverb, etc and when I eventually came back to it a day later, it had solved itself. Now that I have come back to it one more day later, it has gone back to the lead track having incorrect timing.

  • Flex is not enabled.
  • I'll have to remember that for the next time, at this point I am many keystrokes past that one from modifying reverb and such, so I can't undo the cut and move that has already occurred.
  • Tried restarting, it is still playing the timing incorrectly.
  • How would you group them?

This is strange...

• Make sure Flex is not enabled. Select the regions and look at the Region Inspector. Flex & Follow has to be set to Off.

• To Cut the time (which is what are you doing), you could also use the convenient command from the Main Window's Menu bar Edit > Cut/Insert Time > Cut Section between Locators

• If the issue still persist, restart your computer. (Ghost in the machine).

• you could group the tracks, but it should work without grouping though.

The fact the regions are displayed correctly but played incorrectly reminds me on corrupt audio files due to FAT formatted drives or cloud services. But this seems not the case as you wrote the files are on your internal drive.

Two other questions: Are you using the iCloud sync option for your music folder and how much free space is available on your internal drive?

BTW: here is a random Logic tutorial about grouping tracks
