Apple home update showed on my Iphone any unforeseen activity?

Does this Apple home update I received on my Iphone affect my desktop Mac? I read this on a Google search; "Before updating the Home app, ensure all your Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, HomePod, Apple Watch) are running the latest software, as noted by Apple."

iOS Home App does not update I am trying to use the Home App for managing devices in the household. While all of the devices appear in the app, only two are shown as available. The app indicates it needs to be updated, but once started, the update never completes (I have left it running for more than 12 hours with no resolution). The app is on an iPhone 12 and a new 9th-generation iPad. Both are fully updated except for this one apop. I have rebooted both and the problem remains. For reference, I do not have a hub.

iPhone, iMac, and Mac Book users for dummies, what does this mean. A non technical person have no idea what this update mean and it’s future use when applied. Please explain in a language anyone can understand. In plain words, what does the latest update mean to end users?

How to check/force iOS 16.2 Homekit Architeture Upgrade? All my Apple homekit devices were updated to iOS 16.2. On my iPhone, I had a prompt to Upgrade to new Homekit Architecture. I selected to perform the Upgrade Then it showed me a screen of devices that are not compatible and needed to be removed from my account I removed the devices indicated The screen disappeared Then I never received another prompt to perofrm the upgrade Now it just shows me that all the devices are on 16.2. The issue is that all the devices were already on 16.2. I never received another prompt to upgrade and there was no processing to upgrade - no indication that an upgrade of the Homekit Architecture ever happened. I've checked the update/upgrade on all of the Home apps: iPhone, iPad, MacOS Questions: Is there a way to determine if the Architecture has been upgraded or not? Is there a way to force it to perform the Homekit Architecture upgrade? Thank you to everyone in this community - everyone here is quite fantastic!

Only if the Mac is on older software. The Home App on older devices won’t function on older software. See: Upgrade to the new version of Apple Home on iPhone - Apple Support

If you’re running MacOS Sequoia, you’re ok. The upgrade should warn which devices won’t be supported before you agree to download. It won’t otherwise harm or change things on your Mac.

I think it was pre MacOS Catalina that didn’t support it.
