Since, last week, my homepod has started playing music randomly, without anyone giving a voice command or touch command. It is really annoying.
I have tried resetting it, restarting as well, and also disabled Hey Siri. But, to no avail.
Also, changed its location, but the issue persists.
P.S: Also homepod is updated to the latest software update.

If it is a hardware failure, then repair is going to be expensive :-(. I had contacted Apple Support, but they were of no help, they asked me to visit service center.
I might as well turn it off for good, and forget about it.
I had the same problem.
However, after performing the 18.4.1 update, the symptoms no longer occur. It has been one week since the improvement.
It's already updated to 18.4.1, but no improvement :-(.
Hate this, and there is no solution.
18.4.1 installed on mine and its still doing it, really annoying and more so as it does it at full volume during the night. Mine's now unplugged. Hopefully the new AI team can turn this into a more reliable product, until then, no choice but to stop using it unless anyone has a fix.

Upvotes (and the number of posts you can make in a day) are limited for new users to prevent spammers and gaming of the forums. I don't know exactly how Apple defines new users, whether it's amount of time since you joined or amount of posts made or something else. Apple has also never explicitly stated what the limits are.
This morning I turned it on and once powered on it just started to play music. phone, watch and ipad all off! Now putting 18.5 (22L5566a) on to see if that helps. So far, reset the device, reset all settings to factory, software updated = no change fault still there. You can't really put up with this fault as its starts playing during the night full volume so it wakes everyone up so turn it off / bin it is my suggestion.
Not sure, but I noticed that the HomePod does not play while the phone is in DND/ Sleep mode.
This observation made me wonder, if the problem is with Apple iOS version installed on my phone, and it sends random commands to HomePod to play.
Anyone else noticed that HomePod doesn’t work while phone is in DND or Sleep mode?
my iOS version is 18.4.1.
My HomePod is second generation.
There may be two kinds of problems.
Me too, did it last night at 3am full volume, iphone off, ipad off, watch flat. Then again at 9am with no ptompting. Bad Apple and I'm knackered today from broken sleep. Really poor Apple.
