Why are my iTunes songs showing a cloud icon with X on iPad?

In iTunes i have several songs that have the cloud icon with an x in the middle. This occured after updating IOS to 18.4.1. Please advise how to retrieve tunes back into the music library. My iPad is 10 Generation WiFi.
