Have just had my old iMac running macOS Monterey and tried to instal my Microsoft 365 but says I need to have Monterey 13 and I don't have it !

If your iMac is listed here: ➡️ macOS 13 Ventura is compatible with the Macs listed here
Then this: download the macOS 13 Ventura installer from the App Store.
The download will place the "Install macOS Monterey" app in the Applications folder. Double-click that installer app to begin the upgrade process.
Else: you've already reached the end of the upgrade path for your iMac. The only way forward will include buying a newer Mac.
There is no such thing as "Monterey 13". macOS 13 is named Ventura.
Yes,. The current Microsoft Office apps require macOS 13 Ventura or Later.
No, you cannot install them on macOS 12 Monterey, as Microsoft does not allow that anymore.
If you need an Office like suite of Apps that works on Monterey, you can try LibreOffice. It handles MS formats fine and is entirely free.
