Messages notifications won’t turn off in car

Messages notifications are driving me crazy on my car radio, interrupting whatever I am listening to, and won’t turn off. This started when I upgraded to an iPhone 16 with the latest OS. I have a 2018 Chrysler that uses the Uconnect app. I have notifications turned off in that app. I have Show in CarPlay turned off in the Messages notifications and I also have Announcement Notifications turned off in Messages. In the settings for Notifications is a section for Announce Notifications in Siri. In that group I have Messages turned off. All to no avail. What am I missing to turn off these annoying announcements on my car radio?
