Why do my Jabra hearing aid won't pair with my iPhone 14 after iOS 18.4.1 update?

After today’s automatic update on my iPhone 14, my hearing aids are unable to pare. I went through all the procedures, deleted reinstalled, updated the hearing aids. The app recognizes them then opens the accessibility in IOS which can’t find them. The right side works intermittently by itself.

any help is appreciated

Unless someone has the same pair of hearing aids from Jabra, it's not likely you'll get much usable support here. If unpairing them pairing them again didn't help, I would recommend since Apple doesn't make these aids, that you reach out to Jabra Support for help.

Two things you could try:

  1. Make sure you're using the latest version of the Jabra App. If there is no update in the App Store, you can delete the app, the install the app again, then pair them fresh to the app again.
  2. After an iOS update, I ALWAYS Force Restart my iPhone immediately after the update. Give this a try as well --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

If neither of the above help, then reaching out to Jabra Support is the best course of action.

I don't have Jabra hearing aids, I have Resound. I do know that pairing the devices to the iPhone and the Resound app can be difficult sometimes. This can happen with all hearing aids that are considered Mfi or Made for iPhone aids. There is a specific order they have to be paired in, and sometimes it can take more than one try. I agree with the other two posters, if you continue to have difficulty, reach out to Jabra if you have already followed the steps in the manual you received with the hearing aids.

Hi,

I’m using two ReSound LiNX Quattro hearing aids. Since upgrading to iOS 18.4.1 about two weeks ago, I’ve experienced frequent disconnections when the ReSound app is installed—resulting in complete loss of audio.

Interestingly, after uninstalling the app two days ago, the connectivity has noticeably improved. This suggests there may be a bug related to how third-party apps—particularly those managing accessibility features like hearing aid pairing—interact with the new iOS version.

Would appreciate any insights or a possible fix for this.

After numerous tries of deleting and reinstalling the app, resetting my phone settings I was able to pare the aids directly without the app, but without it adjustments are gone except volume.

The Costco rep also had a hard time parring, repeating what I had done. When I mentioned the iOS update he said some other customers had problems after installing it. After deleting the app, restarting the phone, removing the aids, restarting again he was able to get it right.

Been a week with no problems. I hope if iOS has another update to correct everything it doesn’t mess it up again.

Just to add, (and if you haven’t done so already) check the hearing aid app (if applicable) for troubleshooting guides.

Some of the hearing aid apps have excellent troubleshooting guides built into the app, designed to be easily understood by seniors.

And if you can’t resolve the issue, follow the advice of lobsterghost.

Take care!
