Still No sound notifications in Mail App and Calendar App

iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 18.4.1

My previous iPhone was 12 Pro Max. After update of iOS to version 17 mail notifications disappeared. I've made everything possible to run the mail notifications but I had no success. When I took my iPhone 16 Pro Max, in the beginning of its usage I received mail notifications and I was very glad. I considered the problem has been in the device - the old 12 Pro Max.

However after few days of usage of 16 Pro Max mail notifications disappeared again. I've checked all possible settings, I've read all the conversations about the problem here in Apple Support Community etc., but nothing helped.

The worse is that since the last update to iOS 18.4.1 disappeared and the calendar alerts. All the settings are in the way they must be but I receive no notifications. Also I've read all the conversations about this problem here but still nothing.

I consider Apple has a general problem with sound notifications. This problem becomes bigger and bigger with every next update of iOS. I think it is a bug which they cannot fix

Please if somebody has found solution to the problem to share it!

If I am right and this is general problem of Apple, let me know because not to loose my time in looking for decision!

Thank you in advance!

Really? Then why don’t I have any such problem, and why aren’t there thousands of posts about it if it is a general problem? Remember that there are over 500 million iPhones that are eligible for 18.4.1; with that number if it was a general problem millions of users would report it.

Have you tried turning notifications for mail off, restarted your iPhone, and turning it back on?

Thank you for this advice. I did it and nothing.

Yes, I surely consider this is general bug of Apple because I found many similar discussions, many videos about the same issue etc. I think there are enough complaints which make it general bug. The complaints are not millions but they are enough. Of course a bug can be found in one device and it can be not available in other. Thank you once again!

I have to tell that before the update after which the problem appeared, my alert sound was chosen from ringtones. After the update it was impossible. The only one opportunity was to choose from the alert sounds. After the update this setting was changed automatically by default to "none" alert sound. I changed it to sound but nothing. After that I tried all possible settings but nothing. Now evryting is set to alert sound, but the silence is still available. :)
