FCP 11.1 - After importing footage from an SD card, Can't eject card

I have been using FCP for many years. I shoot Sony NX5U cameras and have been importing footage from the SD memory cards. In the past when the import process was complete I would get a message letting me know the import was complete and I could click the eject button and the sd card would eject. After upgrading to 11.1 I noticed the message letting me know that the import was complete stopped popping up and when I try to eject the sd card I get the message that Final Cut Pro is using the card. The only way I have been able to eject the card is to close FCP and then eject the card. This seems to have started after upgrades to both the OS and FCP recently. This makes importing several cards from a multi-cam shoot a problem having to close FCP after each card import.
