Displaying more than six stocks in Stocks widget on a Mac

Dialabrain: Sorry to the forum, but this is a bit off-topic—they closed all of the previous questions about this issue. Are you still looking for away to display more than six stocks in your widgets? If so, open a new discussion and I'll add my response—I'm on Sonoma 14.7.5 and I currently view 18 of them in my widget bar at once, so I can definitely help with that.

Great, thanks… and sorry, it took a minute to get back to this.

To display more than six stocks in the newer, iOS-ish [insert rant about the slow creep of iOS into macOS] macOS versions, like Sonoma:

  1. Go into the Apple Stocks application—it can be on another device, like an iPhone or iPad, as long as you're logged in with the same Apple ID and you have stocks set to sync or back up on iCloud.
  2. Create a new watchlist for every six stocks that you want to keep track of, and name them something that will help you identify them, like widget list01 and so on.
  3. Go back into the widgets app, scroll to the bottom of the current widgets and click on "Edit Widgets" below the last widget, then add a new widget for every six stocks you want to watch.
  4. Finally right-click (or control-click) on one of the new stock widgets you just added to Widgets, select "Edit Stocks…" and the widget will flip over to that widget's settings, where you can add each of the new lists.

For example, I went into the Stocks app and created Watchlist01, Watchlist02, and Watchlist03. Then, in widgets, I added three of the same kind of stock widgets and populated them with each of those three watch lists.

Voilà! Now you have 18 stocks in your widgets—or more, if necessary!
